TrendMiner 2023.R1 Release:

Digital Process Twins for Proactive Maintenance and Improving Overall Plant Performance

  • Introducing “Digital Twin Manager,” the foundation for Digital Process Twins

  • Expanded Support for Cloud-Data Sources: AWS IoT SiteWise, Amazon Timestream, and Microsoft Azure Data Explorer

  • Interactive Search Result Refinement accelerates operational insights

TrendMiner, a Software AG company, has launched its 2023.R1 release with several advanced features for engineers looking to accelerate their journey with advanced industrial analytics.

The Digital Twin Manager, the highlight of the latest software release, allows industrial companies to create digital process twins that provide deeper insights into operational performance. This feature allows engineers to quickly identify assets and their parameters, structure tags from enterprise historian or cloud data sources, and attach tags or other information, such as dashboards or knowledgebase links.

The latest software release also includes plug-and-play integration with market-leading cloud-data sources from Amazon and Microsoft. And the list of new capabilities includes a search refinement that helps TrendMiner users accelerate insights from time-series data.

Digital Process Twin

Among the new capabilities is the “Digital Twin Manager,” which enables industrial companies to create a digital process twin for their production lines. This feature allows engineers to quickly identify assets and their parameters, structure tags from enterprise historian or cloud data sources, and attach tags or other information, such as dashboards or knowledgebase links. Users can easily create asset hierarchies using a drag-and-drop wizard-style interface. It also includes machine learning models developed in TrendMiner’s MLHub or formulae and aggregations made using Tag Builder.

A single location to manage and build asset hierarchies, attach tags and attributes, include Machine Learning model tags for predictions, manage permissions and show predictive and simulation results on specific dashboards.

Cloud Connections

The new release also includes plug-and-play integration with Amazon and Microsoft cloud-data sources, such as AWS IoT SiteWise, Amazon Timestream, and Microsoft Azure Data Explorer. With these connectors, users can analyze time-series data with TrendMiner directly from cloud storage. The cloud-data sources support asset data, contextual data, and are compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the US.

“With the AWS IoT SiteWise and Timestream connector we are able to easily analyze our time-series data with TrendMiner directly from our cloud storages. It is flexible to use for our different assets that store data in time-series and helps us to analyze even more data and get a better picture of our production.”

Searches with Insights

The search refinement feature is another new capability in the 2023.R1 release. It allows users to accelerate insights from time-series data by identifying outliers in process behavior more easily. The feature offers visualizations of the distribution of durations, calculations, and other summary metrics via histograms. Users can interact with the histograms to select a subset of interesting events with respect to one or more summary metrics and subsequently explore the relation with other dimensions as the histograms dynamically update.

Streamlined workflow to reduce time to value via interactive search result refinements.
