Introducing the TrendMiner Agent

This year at AVEVA World Milan, TrendMiner introduced the TrendMiner Agent. ENGIE, a major player in the utility and energy sector as well as across renewables, gas and electricity networks, and district heating and cooling, joined TrendMiner to share how they are putting it to work.

Connecting Agathe, PI AF, and TrendMiner

In this session, Sébastien Grégoire, Team Leader for OT Analytics at ENGIE GEN Europe, and TrendMiner’s Fréderick Motte, VP of Customer Success, showed how ENGIE is unlocking the full potential of its operational data. By connecting their in-house Agathe platform to PI Asset Framework and TrendMiner, ENGIE gives engineers and operators a way to investigate process issues fast, easily, and on their own.

TrendMiner has supported ENGIE across a range of use cases, from dashboarding in power plants to root cause analysis and monitoring. In a live demo, Sébastien showed how TrendMiner speeds up the diagnosis of a suspected valve leak in a CCGT power plant, combining time series and event analytics to pinpoint the issue.

From analytics to self-service AI

Another challenge ENGIE faced: operators had no easy way to simply ask questions of their own data. Fréderick walked through the agentic workflow connecting the Agathe platform and TrendMiner, showing how it puts analytics directly in operators’ hands. The TrendMiner Agent is an agentic AI layer, available through MCP or natively in the platform, that brings natural language analytics to every operator.

Fréderick described an agent built on three principles: explainability, consistency, and actionability — not a black box, but a transparent, dependable tool designed to give engineers and operators a clear path from question to answer.
