TrendMiner 2019.R2 Introduces “DashHub” for Actionable Storytelling with Time-series Data

The second TrendMiner release of 2019 introduces DashHub, a new module to represent time-series trend data and operational contextual information.

Houston, TX and Hasselt, Belgium – April 16, 2019 – TrendMiner, a Software AG company and provider of the leading self-service advanced analytics software, has announced the release of their second software update of 2019, TrendMiner 2019.R2. This release introduces DashHub, a completely new dashboard and reporting module that provides actionable, visual representation of operational performance data. In addition to DashHub, the 2019.R2 release also includes many new features and enhancements based on user feedback.

DashHub – Actionable Storytelling with Time-series Data

TrendMiner enables process and asset experts to analyze, monitor and predict operational performance through trend analysis of time-series data. Multiple trend views, in combination with specific views of contextual operational performance data, can now be presented via the new actionable dashboard, DashHub. With DashHub, process behaviors related to specific KPIs can be monitored, and trends of key sensor data can be viewed in a quick and convenient way, enabling rapid detection of root causes that can lead to actionable intelligence when issues or losses occur.

The user can easily switch between available dashboards or quickly create new dashboards with trend or context item tiles. In addition to the notifications users can receive based on monitors they have created,  dashboards can be used to assess operational performance and prioritize which parts of their process require special attention. From DashHub, users can directly investigate process anomalies, production losses or equipment inefficiencies.

360o View of Your Manufacturing Process

DashHub also provides users with greater flexibility. The recently introduced ContextHub brought users the ability to get a full 360 view of their manufacturing processes by unlocking all operational events stored in third party systems. Users can now easily jump between the  graphical views of TrendHub and the contextual views of ContextHub at will. Context items can be visualized directly within their respective trend views, and conversely, context items in ContextHub can be used to directly access their respective trend views with a simple push of a button.

Also new in 2019.R2  is the ability for context item information such as quality results, batch numbers, or results from 3rd party systems to be added through flexible field creation. This additional information can be used to filter data in a way that suits the user, which in turn can help to speed up data analysis activities of subject matter experts.

Enhancements driven by our users

TrendMiner is designed by engineers, for engineers and we highly value user feedback. In each release we include improvements based on user ideas and suggestions. Some notable enhancements in the TrendMiner 2019.R2 release:

  • Event frames synced from the OSIsoft PI System are now enriched with their corresponding attribute data with additional fields on context items, unlocking visualisation, filtering, and sorting capabilities in ContextHub.
  • Extended reporting capabilities by enabling the export of (stacked) trend and scatter plots images that include a list of tags and layers.
  • In ContextHub, more filter options have been added, as well as the ability to configure columns within the table view.

The full range of TrendMiner’s capabilities, including the  new DashHub and multiple enhancements, will serve to further reduce the time and effort it takes to solve equipment and process performance-related issues. It is TrendMiner’s goal to help our customers make better, faster, decisions, by giving the power of analytics to the people who can interpret the data.
