“Leveraging Data to Drive Continuous Improvement and Optimize Polystyrene Production at AmSty”
American Styrenics (AmSty) is a leader in styrene polymer manufacturing. AmSty’s Torrence facility is their flagship site which relies heavily on the PI system for a wide range of business needs and challenges. Evan Visser is a Process Engineering Specialist working in AmSty’s central technology group. The group is responsible for not only working on use cases but for implementing solutions to foster a more data-driven organization.
In his presentation, Evan will discuss how OSIsoft PI serves as the foundational data layer which allows the AmSty innovation team to leverage the self-service analytics platform TrendMiner to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement at the Torrence site, leading to improved product consistency, faster root cause analysis, and enhanced situational awareness through real-time monitoring of the polystyrene production process.
